Pharcharmo Peak ( Tashi Lapcha ) Trip
Profile: 20 Days
Hotel: 2+2 Nights in Kathmandu
Trekking Days: 15 Days
Maximum Elevation: 6273 m
We offer a unique opportunity for you to
visit the remote Rolwaling area of Nepal with optional guided ascent
of Parchamo Peak ( 6273 m). Set in the spectacular surroundings,
Parchamo is a fairly inaccessible 6000 m peak set close to the Tibetan
border. From the summit of Parchamo is an amazing view. The mountain
is graded as moderate to climb (i.e. requires the use of ropes,
crampons and ice axe), but is within the capabilities of most fit
winter climber/hillwalkers. The group will be accompanied by an
experienced English speaking guide, high altitude Shepas and our
own cook crew. To minimize our impact on the mountain environment,
we travel with self contained group and our cooks use only kerosene
for cooking. All rubbish is packed out for the disposal at
sites up by the local governments.
This expedition takes participants through the
remote Rolwaling valley, exiting into the Khumbu Himal. It is a
good choice for first timers to Himalayan Trekking and climbing.
As always, feel free to call us to discuss your special needs on
this adventure.
Our trek starts at Dolkha where the road ends.
Each day of trekking opens new vistas, as we ascend up the Rolwaling
Valley. Beyond the village of Beding the terrain becomes more harsh
and exposed culminating in the crossing of the Tashi Laptsa Pass
and descent to the Khumbu. During the trek, the daily walk
is approximately 8 to 9 miles, utilizing traditional stopping points.
Our base camp for Parchamo will be situated
near the Tashi Laptsa pass at an altitude of about 5400m.
While acclimatizing, we will establish our high camp from there.
We will leave base camp mid-morning to climb
to a per-prepared high camp at about 5400 m. After our ascent
is completed the group will cross the Tashi Laptsa pass into the
Khumbu region and proceed on to Lukla.
We will fly out from Lukla at 3000 m, back to
Kathmandu. Lukla is a small STOL (Short Take off & Landing)
airfield close to the mountains. The flight from Lukla is “interesting”
to say the least, and probably one of the most spectacular flights
in the world.
Our highly trained, skilled and experienced
guide will lead you throughout the trekking period. We will spend
ample time acclimatizing to new altitudes for increased safety and
comfort. High Altitude Dreams is proud of our experienced guides,
cooks, porters and kitchen staff.
