Ongoing social work in the Khumbu:
As always High
Altitude Dreams devotes a portion of its proceeds from the
climbing season into helping the people of the Khumbu. Last
summer High Altitude Dreams organized a free one month climbing
school for twenty young Nepalese aspiring to become climbing
Sherpas. Students were trained basic mountaineering and upon
completion received certification from the Nepal Mountaineering
Instructors Association (NMIA). Two graduates of the course
then completed further training during the fall, participating
in climbs on Amadablam and this spring we are proud to announce
two graduates from last summer's course reached the summit of
Mt. Everest, assisting and learning from our Everest Expedition
team.
We at High Altitude
dreams are also continuing our fund raising campaign for
Mahendra Jyoti school of Chaurikharka VDC#2
