print version (text only)
Langtang is one of the most beautiful treks in the Hmalaya. Its
high alpine valley is inhabited by a Yak herding tribe closely related
to Tibetans. It lies north of Kathmandu, a scenic bus drive away.
Dhunche is the major village, district centre for this area and
the gateway to the Langtang National Park. As we trek towards the
Langtang valley we are walking through the pine, oak and rhododendron
forests. Spring in Langtang, when the flowers are in the bloom,
is really a trekker’s paradise. After countless beautiful
villages and mountain views, we arrive at our destination in Kyanjen
Gompa, a huge valley with mountains all around and where the glaciers
meet the alpine meadows.
Our highly trained, skilled and experienced trekking guide will
lead throughout the trekking period that will spend a significant
level of time acclimatizing to new altitude to increase safety and
comfortable levels.
